We have many collection points around Portugal and Italy where Umbrellas Heroes can drop off broken umbrellas. 

It depends on the product. Our R-Coat jacket requires 5 broken umbrellas, whereas the accessories require smaller pieces, often leftovers from other pieces we create.

We don’t want to send anything to landfills or incineration. When the pieces of material are too small to use in our jackets or accessories, we save them in repurposed jars… for what? We don’t know yet, but we’ll find a way to repurpose everything!

Our pieces are handmade by a team of 5 seamstresses that work in a small atelier outside of Lisbon. They work safely and are fairly paid for their labor.

Everything takes place in Portugal, from the collection of broken umbrellas, to the design and production.

It depends on the umbrellas used; some of them are impermeable, most are water-resistant which means that they are able to resist the penetration of water to some degree.

We have 2 lines for our Jackets: Classic and Color. Our Color line is a one-of-a-kind combination of umbrellas. In our Classic line you can find pieces made with the most common colors of broken umbrellas, like black, blue, red and green.  

For now we are prototyping jewelery pieces from the metal parts! The first results look awesome!

We offer 4 sizes for Find the measurements available here. Please note that each color combination will not be available in all the sizes – most of our products are one-of-a-kind and we use umbrellas saved from waste, so each product will be pretty unique.

We are starting with children sizes for our hats.

We will not accept returns or issue refunds, however, if you will have any issues with your R-Coat product, please email us at hello@r-coat.com and we will address these on a case-by-case basis.
