R-Coat is a  female owned brand and community based project to reduce waste.

The project started in 2018, when Anna  started collecting umbrellas from the streets and thinking of ways to give them a new life. With no previous sewing experience, she bought a sewing machine and spent many hours watching sewing tutorials. Then, she created the first coats that she called R-Coat 1 and R-Coat 2. Later she started working with a seamstress to elevate the quality of the pieces and prototype new models of jackets.

Anna met Yasmin in 2019 and together they decided to take R-Coat to the next level. They started drafting the brand and applying to various programs that supported and accelerated sustainable projects that tackle environmental challenges. The brand was developed during 2020 and the first collection was launched in May 21. Today we have 32 collection points and sells online all over the world and in multi brand shops in Portugal and Italy.  

R-Coat style is comfortable, timeless and very happy. The pieces are colorful and playful, inspired by the founders’ personal and cultural references – Anna is Italian, Yasmin is Brazilian and they met in Portugal
